Luca Carrara and Cristiana Follador win in Canazei

Another first place for the Italian Luca Carrara, who conquered the first edition of the Dolomyths Run Ultra and adds another medal to this incredible season of long distance competitions with Luca as main actor, whilst the title of queen was conquered by Cristiana Follador from Valdobbiadene. For the two athletes it is the first win in this competition, with a new name but with the same grounding values, after having already been on the highest step of the podium in the past editions. The representative of the Salomon team completed the challenging competition of 61,050 km with a positive drop of 3378 in 6h34’35”, followed by the Italian Davide Cheraz at 4’40” and the Czech Republic Team athlete Tomas Farnik at 11’55”. Thus, Marco Tramet of the Tornado Trail Team, Giovanni Ruocco of Team Anima, Dino Melzani of Asd Bagolino and Michele Tavernaro, already winner of the skyrace competition of the DoloMyths Run family, but today suffering from an injury while he was in the leading group.
For what the female competition concerns, it was time for the queen title for Cristiana Follador, after having ranked second and third in the past editions, which crossed the finish line in 7h47’07”, followed by the Italian Katia Fori at 7’36”, and the American Andrea North, which was leading the competition until the passage at Passo Sella, where she was eventually surpassed by the two Italian athletes during the descent.
The first DoloMyths Run Ultra turns to be a memorable success, with 420 participants representing 22 nations. The long week about trail running in Val di Fassa under the Salomon name continues with a series of events from Wednesday 18 on, with test events with the Salomon athletes, thus Friday with the Vertical starting in Alba di Canazei and Sunday with the queen of the challenges, the outstanding and unique Skyrace, reaching Forcella Pordoi, Piz Boè and Val Lasties.
