After last year success, the first in Val di Fassa, Philip Götsch (Bogn Da Nia) won second time in a row the ninth edition of the Dolomites Vertical Kilometer, smashing the race record valid for the Skyrunner® World Series circuit with 300 competitors. A year ago, Götsch overshadowed the 32'43" of Kilian Burgada with his 32'38", which has just lasted a year, as he crossed the finish line in 31'34 ", more than a minute less than 2015. The other racers quickly realized they would have to fight for the second and the third positions, so the fight for silver along the 2,400 meters of the track (1,015 meters of altitude), has resulted in a race between the two athletes of La Sportiva Nejc Kuhar, first in 2012 and second in 2011 and 2014, and Hannes Perkmann. The Slovenian crossed the line just three seconds away from last year Götsch record, the South Tyrolean at 1'27 ", threatened by Manuel Da Col (Marciatori Calalzo).
The favorite Laura Orgué Vila, Catalan of Team Salomon, won the women's race. She already won gold in 2014, while in 2015 she finished third. Valentina Belotti (La Sportiva) won silver medal just 35 seconds from the winner, after having closely followed Orgué until a few meters from the Forcella, and closing with as many seconds on the third, the teammate Francesca Rossi.
